You can't directly delete a user profile in Windows 10. Instead, you can disable the profile, which will effectively remove it from the login screen.
Here's how to disable a user profile:
- Open Settings: Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
- Go to Accounts: Click on Accounts in the Settings window.
- Select Family & other users: Click on Family & other users from the left-hand menu.
- Find the user profile: Locate the user profile you want to disable.
- Click "Remove" or "Disable": Depending on the type of account, you'll see either "Remove" or "Disable" options. Choose the appropriate one.
- Confirm the action: Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the action.
Important Note: Disabling a profile will not delete the user's data. The user's files and settings will still be stored on the computer. If you want to permanently delete the user's data, you'll need to manually delete the user's profile folder.
To manually delete a user profile folder:
- Open File Explorer: Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
- Navigate to the Users folder: Go to This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users.
- Locate the user profile folder: Find the folder named after the user you want to delete.
- Delete the folder: Right-click on the folder and select Delete.
Warning: Deleting a user profile folder permanently removes all user data. Make sure you back up any important files before deleting the folder.
