How Do You Group Tabs in Chrome?

Published in Web Browsing 1 min read

You can't directly group tabs in Chrome in the way you might group files in a folder. However, you can achieve a similar effect using tab groups.

Here's how to use tab groups:

  1. Right-click on a tab you want to group.
  2. Select "Add tab to new group".
  3. Name your new group.
  4. Drag and drop other tabs into the group.

You can easily manage your tab groups by:

  • Renaming them.
  • Changing their color.
  • Moving them around the tab bar.
  • Closing them.

Tab groups are a great way to:

  • Organize your open tabs for different projects, tasks, or websites.
  • Keep related tabs together for easier navigation.
  • Quickly switch between different sets of tabs.

Example:

Let's say you're working on a research project. You can create a tab group called "Research" and add all the relevant tabs to it. Then, when you need to access those tabs again, you can easily find them by switching to the "Research" tab group.
