Published in Video Editing 2 mins read

You can resize an image in Final Cut Pro using the Inspector window.

Steps:

  1. Select the image: Click on the image in your timeline to select it.
  2. Open the Inspector: In the top menu bar, go to Window > Show Inspector, or press Command + 4.
  3. Adjust the size: In the Inspector window, locate the Scale section. You can either enter specific dimensions in the Width and Height fields or use the slider to adjust the size visually.

Additional Tips:

  • Maintain aspect ratio: To keep the image's proportions, enable the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" checkbox. This will ensure the image is resized proportionally.
  • Fit to frame: You can also use the "Fit to Frame" button to automatically resize the image to fit the current frame size.

Examples:

  • To resize an image to 1000 pixels wide and 500 pixels high: Enter "1000" in the Width field and "500" in the Height field.
  • To resize an image to fit the frame: Click the "Fit to Frame" button.

By following these steps, you can easily resize your images within Final Cut Pro to match your project's requirements.
