Shortening a video in Premiere Pro is a straightforward process that can be achieved in a few simple steps.

1. Select the Video Clip

  • Open your project in Premiere Pro.
  • Locate the video clip you wish to shorten on the timeline.

2. Use the Razor Tool

  • Click the Razor Tool icon in the Tools panel.
  • Click at the point on the video clip where you want to make the cut. This will split the clip into two separate sections.

3. Delete or Move the Unwanted Portion

  • Delete: To remove a portion of the video, select the unwanted section by clicking and dragging over it. Then, press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  • Move: To reposition a portion of the video, select the unwanted section and drag it to a different location on the timeline.

4. Adjust In and Out Points

  • If you want to fine-tune the beginning or end of the video, use the In and Out points markers.
