Why Won't My Kindle Connect to WiFi?

Published in Troubleshooting 2 mins read

There are several reasons why your Kindle might not connect to WiFi. Here are some common issues and their solutions:

1. Check Your WiFi Network

  • Is your WiFi network working? Try connecting other devices to your WiFi network to confirm it's active and working correctly.
  • Is your Kindle within range of the WiFi router? Move closer to the router to improve the signal strength.
  • Is your WiFi password correct? Ensure you are entering the correct password when prompted.

2. Restart Your Kindle and Router

  • Restart your Kindle: Turn it off completely and then back on.
  • Restart your WiFi router: Unplug the router, wait for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

3. Forget and Re-add the WiFi Network

  • Go to Settings on your Kindle.
  • Select Wi-Fi.
  • Find your WiFi network in the list and select Forget.
  • Now, select Add Wi-Fi Network.
  • Enter your WiFi network name and password and select Connect.

4. Update Your Kindle's Software

  • Check for software updates: Go to Settings > Device Options > System Updates. If an update is available, download and install it.

5. Contact Customer Support

If none of the above solutions work, it's best to contact Amazon Kindle customer support for further assistance.
