You'll receive an official score report from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) that tells you whether you passed the GRE.

Finding Your GRE Score

  • ETS Account: You can access your official scores through your ETS account.
  • Email: ETS will also send you an email notification with a link to your score report.

Score Reporting

  • Score Range: The GRE is scored on a scale of 130-170 for each section (Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing).
  • Percentile Rank: Your score report will also include your percentile rank, which indicates how your score compares to other test-takers.
  • Individual Section Scores: You'll receive separate scores for each section of the GRE.

Passing the GRE

  • No Official Passing Score: There is no official passing score for the GRE. Graduate schools set their own minimum score requirements.
  • Program-Specific Requirements: You should check the websites of the graduate programs you are interested in to see their specific GRE score requirements.
