How to Use Windows Fax and Scan?

Windows Fax and Scan is a built-in feature in Windows that allows you to send faxes and scan documents directly from your computer. Here's how to use it:

Sending a Fax

  1. Open Windows Fax and Scan: Go to the Start Menu, type "Fax and Scan," and select the app.
  2. Create a New Fax: Click the "New Fax" button.
  3. Add Recipients: Enter the fax number of the recipient in the "To" field. You can also add multiple recipients by separating their numbers with commas.
  4. Add Document: Click the "Add" button and select the document you want to fax. You can add multiple documents.
  5. Send Fax: Review the details and click the "Send" button.

Scanning a Document

  1. Open Windows Fax and Scan: Go to the Start Menu, type "Fax and Scan," and select the app.
  2. Select Scanner: Choose the scanner you want to use from the list.
  3. Scan Settings: Adjust the scan settings, such as resolution, color mode, and document size.
  4. Preview and Save: Preview the scan, and then click the "Save" button to save it to your computer. You can choose the file format and location for saving the scan.

Tips:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to your computer and has the necessary fax and scan capabilities.
  • You may need to install the driver for your scanner if it's not already installed.
  • To check the fax sending status, go to the "Sent Faxes" tab in Windows Fax and Scan.
