There are two main ways to factory reset an Asus laptop:
1. Using the Windows Settings
- Open Settings: Click the Start button, then select Settings.
- Go to Update & Security: Select Update & Security.
- Choose Recovery: Click Recovery in the left sidebar.
- Select Reset this PC: Under "Reset this PC," click Get started.
- Choose your reset option: You can choose to Keep my files (removes apps and settings) or Remove everything (completely erases the drive).
- Follow the on-screen instructions: The process may take some time.
2. Using the BIOS
- Restart your laptop: Press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down.
- Enter BIOS: While the laptop is restarting, press the F2 or Delete key repeatedly. This will take you to the BIOS setup.
- Navigate to the Boot menu: Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Boot menu.
- Select the "Factory Reset" option: The exact wording may vary depending on your BIOS version, but it should be something like "Factory Reset" or "Restore Defaults."
- Confirm the reset: The BIOS will ask you to confirm the reset. Select "Yes" or "OK" to proceed.
- Wait for the reset to complete: The laptop will restart and begin the factory reset process.
Note: Factory resetting your laptop will erase all data on the hard drive. Make sure to back up any important files before proceeding.
