You can upload photos to iCloud using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Here’s how:
Using Your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on your Apple ID banner at the top of the screen.
- Select iCloud from the list of options.
- Turn on Photos by tapping the switch next to it.
- Choose "Optimize iPhone Storage" or "Download and Keep Originals" based on your storage preference.
- Optimize iPhone Storage: This option will store your photos in a compressed format on your device, while keeping the original high-resolution versions in iCloud. This helps save space on your device.
- Download and Keep Originals: This option will download and keep the full-resolution photos on your device, and also store them in iCloud. This allows you to have access to your original photos on all your devices.
Using Your Mac:
- Open the Photos app on your Mac.
- Click on the "Photos" menu in the top menu bar.
- Select "Preferences".
- Go to the "iCloud" tab.
- Check the box next to "iCloud Photos".
- Choose "Optimize Mac Storage" or "Download Originals" based on your storage preference.
- Optimize Mac Storage: This option will store your photos in a compressed format on your Mac, while keeping the original high-resolution versions in iCloud. This helps save space on your Mac.
- Download Originals: This option will download and keep the full-resolution photos on your Mac, and also store them in iCloud. This allows you to have access to your original photos on all your devices.
Once you have enabled iCloud Photos, your photos will automatically upload to iCloud. You can access your photos from any of your devices that have iCloud Photos enabled.
Additional Tips:
- You can also manually upload photos to iCloud by using the "Upload" option in the Photos app.
- If you have a large photo library, it may take some time for your photos to upload to iCloud.
- You can manage your iCloud storage by going to your iCloud account settings.
