How Do I Change the Default Browser in Microsoft Teams?

You can't directly change the default browser used by Microsoft Teams. Teams uses its own built-in web browser to open links within the app. This browser is based on Chromium, the same engine that powers Google Chrome.

Here's how to change the default browser for your computer:

  1. Open the Settings App: Search for "Settings" in the Windows search bar or press Windows key + I.
  2. Navigate to Apps: Click on "Apps" in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select Default Apps: Choose "Default apps" from the options on the right side of the window.
  4. Choose Your Browser: Scroll down to "Web browser" and click on the currently selected browser. You'll see a list of installed browsers. Select the one you want to use as your default.

Note: This will only change the default browser for your operating system, not for Microsoft Teams.

For example, if you want to use Firefox as your default browser:

  • Open the Settings App.
  • Navigate to Apps > Default Apps.
  • Click on the current web browser listed under "Web browser."
  • Choose Firefox from the list of available browsers.

This will set Firefox as your default browser for all applications and websites on your computer, except for Microsoft Teams, which will continue to use its built-in browser.
