How Do I Change My DNS on My Device?

Changing your DNS settings can improve your internet browsing speed and privacy. Here's how to do it on different devices:

Windows

  1. Open Network Settings: Search for "Network & Internet" in the Windows search bar and click on the result.
  2. Select Wi-Fi or Ethernet: Choose the network connection you want to modify.
  3. Change Adapter Options: Click on "Change adapter options" in the left sidebar.
  4. Right-click Connection: Right-click on your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and select "Properties."
  5. Select TCP/IPv4: Double-click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)."
  6. Enter DNS Servers: In the "General" tab, select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter your preferred DNS servers.
  7. Apply Changes: Click "OK" to save the changes.

macOS

  1. Open System Preferences: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and select "System Preferences."
  2. Select Network: Click on the "Network" icon.
  3. Choose Connection: Select the Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection you want to modify.
  4. Advanced Options: Click the "Advanced" button.
  5. Select DNS Tab: Choose the "DNS" tab.
  6. Add DNS Servers: Click the "+" button to add new DNS servers.
  7. Remove Existing Servers: You can remove existing DNS servers by selecting them and clicking the "-" button.
  8. Apply Changes: Click "OK" to save the changes.

Android

  1. Open Settings: Open the "Settings" app on your Android device.
  2. Select Wi-Fi: Tap on "Wi-Fi."
  3. Long-press Network: Long-press on the Wi-Fi network you're connected to.
  4. Modify Network: Tap on "Modify network."
  5. Select Advanced Options: Tap on the "Advanced options" button.
  6. Enter DNS: In the "IP settings" section, select "Static" and enter your preferred DNS servers in the "DNS 1" and "DNS 2" fields.
  7. Save Changes: Tap "Save" to apply the changes.

iOS

  1. Open Settings: Open the "Settings" app on your iOS device.
  2. Select Wi-Fi: Tap on "Wi-Fi."
  3. Tap "i" Icon: Tap on the "i" icon next to the name of the Wi-Fi network you're connected to.
  4. Configure DNS: Tap on "Configure DNS."
  5. Select Manual: Choose the "Manual" option.
  6. Add DNS Servers: Tap on the "+" button to add new DNS servers.
  7. Remove Existing Servers: You can remove existing DNS servers by swiping left on them and tapping "Delete."
  8. Save Changes: Tap "Save" to apply the changes.

  • Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
  • OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

Remember to replace the default DNS servers with your preferred ones.
