You can export data from a Tableau worksheet in several ways, depending on what you want to do with the data.
Exporting Data as a Table
- Select the data you want to export. You can select individual marks, rows, or the entire worksheet.
- Right-click the selected area.
- Choose "Export Data". You will be presented with several options for exporting data, including:
- CSV: A simple comma-separated value file that can be opened in most spreadsheet programs.
- Excel: A spreadsheet file that can be opened in Microsoft Excel.

Exporting Data as an Image
- Select the worksheet you want to export.
- Right-click the worksheet.

- TIFF: A lossless image format.
Exporting Data as a Tableau Package
- Select the worksheet you want to export.
- Right-click the worksheet.
- Choose "Export".
- Select "Packaged Workbook". This will create a .twbx file that contains the data, the worksheet, and all other necessary components.
Exporting Data as a Tableau Data Source
- Select the data source you want to export.
- Right-click the data source.
- Choose "Export".
- Select "Data Source". This will create a .tds file that contains the data source definition.
