The second man to land on the Moon was Buzz Aldrin, an American astronaut and fighter pilot.
He was the lunar module pilot for the Apollo 11 mission, which landed on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong, the mission commander, became the first man to walk on the Moon, followed shortly by Buzz Aldrin.
Aldrin and Armstrong spent approximately two hours outside the lunar module, collecting lunar samples, planting the American flag, and taking photographs. Their historic moonwalk marked a significant achievement in human exploration and inspired generations to come.
