How Do You Unprotect a Protected Excel Workbook?

You can unprotect a protected Excel workbook by using the "Unprotect Sheet" or "Unprotect Workbook" command.

Unprotecting a Sheet

  1. Open the Excel workbook you want to unprotect.
  2. Select the sheet you want to unprotect.
  3. Go to the "Review" tab in the Excel ribbon.
  4. Click on the "Unprotect Sheet" button in the "Changes" group.
  5. Enter the password if you know it. If you don't know the password, you can't unprotect the sheet.

Unprotecting the Entire Workbook

  1. Open the Excel workbook you want to unprotect.
  2. Go to the "File" tab in the Excel ribbon.
  3. Click on the "Info" button.
  4. Click on the "Protect Workbook" button in the "Protect Workbook" group.
  5. Click on "Unprotect Workbook" in the drop-down menu.
  6. Enter the password if you know it. If you don't know the password, you can't unprotect the workbook.

Important Notes

  • If you've forgotten the password, you won't be able to unprotect the sheet or workbook.
  • You may need to have specific permissions to unprotect the sheet or workbook.
