You can't directly download a Figma project as a file. Figma is a web-based platform, so projects are stored online. Instead of downloading, you can export specific elements or the entire project as various file formats.
Exporting Elements
- Select the element: Click on the element you want to export.
- Use the "Export" panel: In the right sidebar, click on "Export".
- Choose the format: Select the desired format, such as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, etc.
- Adjust settings: Customize settings like resolution, size, and background color.
- Download the file: Click the "Export" button to download the selected element.
Exporting the Entire Project
- Open the "File" menu: Click on "File" in the top menu bar.
- Select "Export" or "Download" (depending on your Figma version).
- Choose the format: Select the desired format, such as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, etc.
- Adjust settings: Customize settings like resolution, size, and background color.
- Download the file: Click the "Export" button to download the entire project.
Note:
- You can also export individual layers or frames by selecting them before using the "Export" panel.
- Some formats, like PDF, will preserve the project's layers and structure, while others, like PNG, will create a flattened image.
