How Do I Add a User to My Instagram Business Account?

Published in Social Media Management 3 mins read

You can't directly add a user to your Instagram business account in the same way you might add a user to a computer system. However, you can grant access to your account by assigning roles to other users.

Here's how you can do it:

1. Granting Access to Your Instagram Business Account

  • Switch to a Business Account: If you haven't already, convert your personal Instagram profile to a business account. You can do this through your profile settings.
  • Go to Settings: Access your Instagram settings by tapping the profile icon in the bottom right corner and then tapping the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
  • Select "Account": From the list of options, choose "Account."
  • Tap "Manage Accounts": Look for the "Manage Accounts" option and tap it.
  • Add an Account: To add a new account, tap the "+" button and choose the account you want to add.
  • Switch Between Accounts: Once you've added the account, you can switch between accounts easily by tapping your profile picture in the top left corner and selecting the account you want to use.

2. Assigning Roles to Users

  • Set Up a Business Manager Account: If you have multiple Instagram accounts, you can manage them through a Business Manager account. You can create a new Business Manager account or connect your existing accounts.
  • Add Users to Your Business Manager: Once you have a Business Manager account, you can add users and assign them roles. This allows you to control the level of access they have to your Instagram accounts.
  • Assign Roles: You can choose from different roles, such as:
    • Admin: Full access to all accounts and settings.
    • Advertiser: Can create and manage ads for your accounts.
    • Analyst: Can view insights and reports for your accounts.
    • Employee: Limited access to specific accounts and features.

Note: You can also manage permissions for specific Instagram accounts within your Business Manager account. This allows you to give users access to only the features they need, such as posting content or managing ads.

Remember, granting access to your Instagram business account means sharing sensitive information and control. Be sure to choose users you trust and assign roles that align with their responsibilities.
