Published in Smart Home 1 min read

There are two ways to reset a TP-Link smart plug:

1. Using the Reset Button:

  • Locate the reset button on your TP-Link smart plug. It is usually a small, recessed button.
  • Press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds.
  • The LED indicator on the plug will flash rapidly during the reset process.
  • Release the button when the LED light stops flashing.
  • Your TP-Link smart plug is now reset.

2. Using the Kasa App:

  • Open the Kasa app on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Select the smart plug you want to reset.
  • Tap the settings icon (usually a gear or cogwheel).
  • Choose "Reset Device" or a similar option.
  • Confirm the reset by following the on-screen prompts.
  • Your TP-Link smart plug will be reset.

Note: Resetting your TP-Link smart plug will erase all settings and configurations. You will need to reconfigure the device and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network after the reset.
