How Do I Update My Google Home WiFi Password?

Published in Smart Home 1 min read

You can update the Wi-Fi password on your Google Home device through the Google Home app. Here's how:

  1. Open the Google Home app: Launch the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Select your Google Home device: Tap on the device whose Wi-Fi password you want to update.
  3. Access device settings: Tap the settings icon (usually a gear or a three-dot menu) in the top right corner.
  4. Find Wi-Fi settings: Look for a section labeled "Wi-Fi" or "Network."
  5. Update the password: Tap on the current Wi-Fi network and enter the new password.
  6. Save changes: Confirm the new password and save the changes.

Your Google Home device will now be connected to the new Wi-Fi network.

Note: If you are unable to find the Wi-Fi settings in the Google Home app, your device might be too old to support password updates directly. In this case, you may need to factory reset your device and re-configure it with the new Wi-Fi network.
