Published in SketchUp 1 min read

You can move layers in SketchUp by using the Layer Manager. This tool lets you rearrange the order of your layers, making it easier to manage your model's complexity.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the Layer Manager: Click on the Window menu and select Layer Manager.
  2. Select the Layer: Click on the layer you want to move in the Layer Manager window.
  3. Drag and Drop: Click and drag the layer to its desired position in the list.
  4. Release the Layer: Release the mouse button to place the layer in its new location.

Additional Tips:

  • You can also use the up and down arrow keys to move layers one position at a time.
  • Remember that the order of layers in the Layer Manager determines which layers are visible and which are hidden. Layers higher in the list are displayed on top of layers lower in the list.

By understanding how to move layers in SketchUp, you can better organize your models and improve your workflow.
