How Do I Add Authenticator to My Microsoft Account?

You can easily add Microsoft Authenticator to your Microsoft account for enhanced security.

1. Download the App

  • Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

2. Open the App and Sign In

  • Open the app and tap "Add account".
  • Select "Work or school account".
  • Enter your Microsoft account email address and tap "Next".

3. Scan the QR Code

  • You'll be directed to a screen with a QR code.
  • Open your Microsoft account on a web browser.
  • Go to "Security" and select "More security options".
  • Under "Authenticator app", click "Set up".
  • Scan the QR code displayed on your phone using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

4. Verify Your Account

  • Enter the 6-digit verification code displayed on the app into the Microsoft account webpage.
  • Click "Verify".

Your Microsoft account is now secured with Microsoft Authenticator. You'll receive push notifications for login attempts and can easily approve or deny access.
