What has lots of eyes and can't see?

Published in Riddle 1 min read

The answer to this classic riddle is a potato.

Potatoes have many "eyes" which are actually buds that can grow into new plants. However, potatoes themselves lack eyes that can see.

Here are some other things that have lots of eyes but can't see:

  • A hurricane: Hurricanes are often described as having "eyes" in the center, which is a calm area surrounded by powerful winds.
  • A needle: A needle has an "eye" where the thread is passed through, but it cannot see.
  • A storm: A storm can be said to have an "eye" at its center, just like a hurricane.

While these objects have "eyes" in a figurative sense, they lack the biological structures necessary for sight.
