How common is Proteus syndrome?

Published in Rare Genetic Disorders 1 min read

Proteus syndrome is incredibly rare, with estimates suggesting it affects only one in a million to one in ten million people. To date, there have been less than 100 reported cases worldwide.

Because of its rarity, it can be challenging to diagnose, and many cases may go unreported. This means the actual prevalence might be slightly higher than current estimates.
