How do I know if I'm a good person?

Published in Personal Growth 2 mins read

It's impossible to definitively know if you're a "good" person because "goodness" is subjective and can vary greatly depending on individual values and cultural norms.

However, here are some signs that may indicate you are a good person:

  • You prioritize empathy and compassion: Do you genuinely try to understand other people's feelings and perspectives? Do you offer help when needed?
  • You take responsibility for your actions: When you make a mistake, do you own up to it and try to make amends? Do you avoid blaming others for your problems?
  • You treat others with kindness and respect: Do you show consideration for others' feelings, even when you disagree with them? Do you speak kindly to those around you?
  • You strive for honesty and integrity: Do you tell the truth, even when it's difficult? Do you act in accordance with your values, even when it's not convenient?
  • You are willing to help others: Do you volunteer your time or donate to causes you believe in? Do you go out of your way to assist those in need?

Remember, no one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. Being a good person is about consistently trying to do the right thing, even when it's hard, and learning from your mistakes.

It's more important to focus on being a good person than to worry about whether you are one.
