You can reset your Windows 11 password using a few different methods:
Using a Local Account
- Start your computer: Power on your computer and get to the login screen.
- Click "Forgot Password": You should see an option to reset your password. Click on it.
- Enter a security question: If you set up security questions during account creation, you'll be prompted to answer them.
- Create a new password: Once you've answered the security questions correctly, you'll be able to create a new password.
Using a Microsoft Account
- Go to the Microsoft website: Visit the Microsoft account recovery page.
- Enter your email address: Type in the email address associated with your Microsoft account.
- Choose a recovery method: Select either "Send a security code to my email" or "Send a security code to my phone."
- Enter the code and create a new password: Enter the code sent to your email or phone and then create a new password.
Using a Reset Disk
- Insert the reset disk: Connect the USB drive or DVD that contains your reset disk.
- Follow the on-screen instructions: The reset disk will guide you through the password reset process.
Using a Local Administrator Account
- Log in as an administrator: If you have another administrator account, log in using that account.
- Open "Settings": Go to "Settings" by clicking the Windows icon in the taskbar and selecting "Settings."
- Go to "Accounts": Choose "Accounts" from the left-hand menu.
- Select "Family & other users": Click on "Family & other users" in the right pane.
- Select the user account: Choose the account whose password you want to reset.
- Click "Change password": This will allow you to change the password for the selected account.
Note: If you don't have any of the above options, you may need to reinstall Windows, which will erase all your data.
