Installing Ubuntu live involves booting your computer from a USB drive containing the Ubuntu operating system. This allows you to try Ubuntu without installing it on your hard drive. Here's how you can do it:
1. Download Ubuntu
- Download the latest version of Ubuntu from the official website: https://ubuntu.com/download
- Choose the appropriate version for your computer (e.g., Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server)
- Save the downloaded file to your computer.
2. Create a Bootable USB Drive
- Download a tool like Rufus (https://rufus.ie/) or Etcher (https://www.balena.io/etcher/) to create a bootable USB drive.
- Insert a USB drive with enough storage space (at least 4GB).
- Open the tool and select the downloaded Ubuntu ISO file.
- Choose the USB drive as the destination.
- Click on the "Create" or "Flash" button to start the process.
3. Boot from the USB Drive
- Restart your computer.
- Press the BIOS boot menu key (usually F12, F11, or Esc) during startup to access the boot options.
- Select the USB drive from the list of boot devices.
- Your computer will now boot into the Ubuntu live environment.
4. Explore Ubuntu
- Once Ubuntu is loaded, you can try out the operating system.
- Explore the different applications and features.
- If you want to install Ubuntu permanently, you can do so from the live environment.
Note: If you decide to install Ubuntu permanently, you'll need to choose a partition on your hard drive to install it on. The installer will guide you through the process.
