No one ever truly defeated Zeus. In Greek mythology, Zeus reigned supreme as the king of the gods, wielding immense power and authority.
While some gods and heroes challenged Zeus's power, they never managed to defeat him. For example:
- Typhon: A monstrous giant, Typhon was considered the most powerful being after Zeus. He fought Zeus in a fierce battle, but Zeus ultimately triumphed, imprisoning Typhon under Mount Etna.
- Prometheus: A Titan who defied Zeus by giving fire to humans, Prometheus was punished by being chained to a rock where an eagle ate his liver every day. While this was a significant challenge to Zeus's authority, it wasn't a defeat.
- Hercules: A demigod, Hercules completed twelve impossible labors assigned by Zeus. Though these labors were challenging, they were intended to test Hercules's strength and were ultimately completed successfully.
While Zeus faced challenges, he remained the undisputed king of the gods throughout Greek mythology. His power and authority were never truly overthrown.
