There are a few ways to handoff Apple Music depending on what you mean by "handoff."
1. Handoff Between Devices
You can seamlessly switch between listening to Apple Music on different Apple devices, such as your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch. This is called handoff.
To use handoff, ensure your devices are signed in to the same Apple ID and have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. Then, follow these steps:
- Start playing music on one device: Open the Apple Music app and begin playing a song, album, or playlist.
- Switch to another device: On the second device, you'll see a small icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen, which indicates that handoff is available. Tap the icon to switch to the same music playing on the first device.
2. Sharing Apple Music with Family Members
You can share your Apple Music subscription with up to five other family members using the Family Sharing feature. This allows everyone in your family to enjoy Apple Music on their devices.
To share your Apple Music subscription:
- Set up Family Sharing: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Family Sharing and follow the prompts to set up Family Sharing.
- Invite family members: Once Family Sharing is set up, you can invite family members to join.
- Grant access to Apple Music: After your family members join, you can grant them access to your Apple Music subscription.
3. Transferring Apple Music Library to a New Device
If you're setting up a new Apple device, you can transfer your entire Apple Music library to it. This includes your playlists, downloaded music, and listening history.
To transfer your Apple Music library:
- Sign in to Apple Music: On your new device, open the Apple Music app and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Download your library: The Apple Music app will automatically download your library to your new device.
4. Handoff to Another Person
You cannot directly handoff your Apple Music subscription to another person. However, you can cancel your subscription and then gift a new Apple Music subscription to someone else.
Note: This will require a new purchase.
