There are a few ways to duplicate MIDI in Logic Pro, depending on what you want to achieve:
1. Duplicate a MIDI Region
- Select the MIDI region you want to duplicate.
- Right-click the region and choose "Duplicate" from the context menu.
- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Command + D.
This will create an identical copy of the MIDI region, placed directly below the original.
2. Duplicate a MIDI Track
- Select the MIDI track you want to duplicate.
- Right-click the track header and choose "Duplicate Track" from the context menu.
- Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Command + Option + D.
This will create a new track containing all the same MIDI data as the original track.
3. Duplicate Specific Notes
- Select the MIDI notes you want to duplicate.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Command + Option + D to duplicate the selected notes.
- Alternatively, right-click the selected notes and choose "Duplicate" from the context menu.
This will create identical copies of the selected notes, placed directly above or below the originals, depending on the direction of the selection.
4. Copy and Paste MIDI Data
- Select the MIDI data you want to copy.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Command + C to copy the selected data.
- Click on the desired location in the MIDI editor or piano roll where you want to paste the data.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Command + V to paste the copied data.
This allows you to move MIDI data between different tracks or regions.
Remember that duplicating MIDI data only creates a copy. Any changes made to the original data will not affect the duplicated data, and vice versa.
