Moving files in Moodle is a straightforward process that can be accomplished in a few simple steps. Here's how:

1. Access the File Manager

  • Log in to your Moodle course as a teacher or administrator.
  • Navigate to the section where the file is located.
  • Click on the "Files" or "Resources" block in the course.
  • This will open the File Manager, where you can view and manage the course files.

2. Select the File to Move

  • Locate the file you want to move within the File Manager.
  • Click on the file's name to select it.

3. Move the File

  • Option 1: Drag and Drop: Click and hold the selected file and drag it to the desired location within the File Manager.
  • Option 2: Use the "Move" Button: Click on the "Move" button located in the File Manager's toolbar. This will open a pop-up window where you can select the new location for the file.
  • Option 3: Use the "Copy" Button: Click on the "Copy" button located in the File Manager's toolbar. This will create a copy of the file in the selected location.

4. Confirm the Move

  • After moving or copying the file, you'll see a confirmation message.
  • The file will now be located in the new destination within the course.

Note: If you are moving a file from one section of the course to another, ensure that both sections have the necessary permissions set for the file to be accessed.
