Huawei phones do not have a built-in "Find My Phone" feature like other Android devices. This is because Huawei devices use their own proprietary software ecosystem called Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), which does not include Google Mobile Services (GMS).
However, Huawei offers its own alternative, Find My Device, which provides similar functionality. Here's how it works:
- Enabling Find My Device: You need to first enable Find My Device in the Settings app of your Huawei phone.
- Location Tracking: Find My Device relies on your phone's location services to determine its whereabouts. This means you need to ensure location is enabled on your device.
- Remote Control: Once enabled, you can use the Find My Device app or website to locate your lost phone on a map. You can also:
- Ring your phone, even if it's on silent.
- Lock your phone and display a message on the screen.
- Erase all data from your phone remotely.
Note:
- Find My Device requires your phone to have an active internet connection for it to work.
- If your phone is offline, the last known location will be displayed.
To use Find My Device, you will need to have a Huawei ID and sign in to the Find My Device website or app using that ID.
