The JF-17 Thunder, a multirole combat aircraft jointly developed by Pakistan and China, has been exported to two countries so far:
- Myanmar: In 2016, Myanmar acquired 16 JF-17s, marking the first international sale of the aircraft.
- Nigeria: In 2023, Nigeria signed a deal for an unspecified number of JF-17s, becoming the second country to operate the fighter jet.
The JF-17 has been marketed to several other countries, including Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan. However, no confirmed sales have been announced beyond Myanmar and Nigeria.
The JF-17's success in attracting international buyers is a testament to its competitive price, advanced capabilities, and strong performance. It offers a cost-effective alternative to more expensive Western fighter jets.
