There are a few ways to close an app on your Mac. Here are the most common methods:

1. Using the Menu Bar

  • Click on the app's name in the menu bar. This will open a dropdown menu.
  • Select "Quit [app name]" from the menu. This will close the app completely.

2. Using the Dock

  • Click on the app's icon in the Dock. This will bring the app to the foreground.
  • Right-click on the app's icon in the Dock. This will open a menu.
  • Select "Quit" from the menu. This will close the app completely.

3. Using Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Press Command + Q. This will quit the currently active app.

4. Using Force Quit

  • Press Option + Command + Esc. This will open the Force Quit Applications window.
  • Select the app you want to close from the list.
  • Click "Force Quit". This will forcefully close the app, even if it's not responding.

Note: Force Quitting an app should only be used as a last resort, as it can result in unsaved data being lost.
