Can I touch the Quran on my period with gloves?

Published in Islamic Practices 1 min read

It is not permissible for a menstruating woman to touch the Quran, even with gloves. The reason is that menstruation is considered a state of ritual impurity in Islam, and during this time, certain actions, such as touching the Quran, are prohibited. This practice is based on Islamic tradition and interpretations of relevant verses in the Quran.

While wearing gloves may create a physical barrier, it does not change the underlying Islamic principle of avoiding contact with the Quran during menstruation. Instead, women are encouraged to recite the Quran from memory or listen to recordings of it.
