The IELTS Speaking test is assessed by a trained and certified examiner. This examiner is a native English speaker who has undergone extensive training and certification to ensure they can accurately assess your speaking abilities.
The examiner evaluates your performance across four criteria:
- Fluency and Coherence: How smoothly and logically you speak.
- Lexical Resource: The range and accuracy of your vocabulary.
- Grammatical Range and Accuracy: The variety and correctness of your grammar.
- Pronunciation: How clearly and understandably you pronounce words and sounds.
The examiner assigns a score for each criterion, which is then combined to give you an overall band score for the Speaking test.
