Only human sperm can fertilize a human egg. Human and animal cells have different genetic structures, and sperm from any other species is incompatible with human eggs. While some research has shown that human sperm can penetrate the membrane of a gibbon egg, it cannot attach to and fertilize it. This is because of the significant differences in the genetic makeup and reproductive mechanisms of human and animal species.
