The only English king who never married was Edward V. He ascended to the throne at the tender age of twelve, following the death of his father, Edward IV. However, his reign was short-lived and marked by tragedy. His uncle, Richard III, seized the throne, leading to the infamous disappearance of Edward V and his younger brother, Richard of Shrewsbury, known as the "Princes in the Tower."
Edward V's lack of marriage is attributed to his young age and the tumultuous political climate surrounding his reign. He never had the opportunity to marry and establish a family.
