The world's most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) is human papillomavirus (HPV).
HPV is a very common virus that can be spread through sexual contact. There are many different types of HPV, and most people will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives.
Most HPV infections go away on their own, but some types of HPV can cause health problems, such as genital warts and cervical cancer.
There are vaccines available to protect against HPV, and these vaccines are very effective at preventing HPV infections.
The HPV vaccine is recommended for all boys and girls ages 11 and 12.
