How do you feel when your blood sugar is too high?

Published in Health & Wellness 1 min read

You might not feel anything at all when your blood sugar is too high, especially in the early stages. However, if your blood sugar stays elevated for a long time, you may experience some of the following symptoms:

  • Increased thirst: Your body tries to flush out excess sugar through urine, leading to dehydration.
  • Frequent urination: This is another consequence of your body trying to eliminate excess sugar.
  • Increased hunger: Despite eating, your body may not be able to use glucose properly, leading to constant hunger.
  • Fatigue: High blood sugar can disrupt your body's energy production, making you feel tired.
  • Blurry vision: High blood sugar can affect the lens of your eye, leading to blurry vision.
  • Slow-healing sores: High blood sugar can impair your body's ability to heal wounds.

It is important to note that these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis.
