How do you adjust curves in Illustrator?

You can adjust curves in Illustrator using the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow) and the Anchor Point Tool (pen with a small square).

Using the Direct Selection Tool:

  1. Select the curve you want to adjust.
  2. Click and drag the anchor points to change the curve's shape.
  3. Hold down the Alt (Option) key while dragging to adjust the curve's direction handles.
  4. Click and drag the direction handles to fine-tune the curve's shape.

Using the Anchor Point Tool:

  1. Select the curve you want to adjust.
  2. Click the anchor point you want to modify.
  3. Drag the anchor point to change the curve's position.
  4. Drag the direction handles to adjust the curve's shape.

Additional Tips:

  • Smooth curves: Use the Convert Anchor Point Tool (pen with a small circle) to convert corner points to smooth points.
  • Sharp corners: Use the Convert Anchor Point Tool to convert smooth points to corner points.
  • Adjust curve tension: The Curve Tool (pen) allows you to adjust the tension of a curve by dragging the direction handles.
