You can easily rename columns in Google Sheets by adding a header row. Simply type the desired name for each column in the first row. These names will then appear as column headings, making your spreadsheet more readable and organized.
Here's how:
- Click on the cell at the top of the column you want to rename. This will select the entire column.
- Type the desired column name into the selected cell.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each column you want to rename.
Example:
If you want to rename column "A" to "First Name," click on cell "A1" and type "First Name." Similarly, you can rename column "B" to "Last Name" by clicking on cell "B1" and typing "Last Name."
Note: Google Sheets does not allow you to directly rename the default column letters (A, B, C, etc.). You can only rename the headings in the first row.
