You can easily edit your saved places in Google Maps through the web or mobile app.
Editing Saved Places on the Web:
- Open Google Maps: Go to https://www.google.com/maps and sign in to your Google account.
- Click on "Your Places": In the top left corner, click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) and then select "Your places."
- Choose "Saved": You'll see a list of your saved places. Select "Saved" to view your saved locations.
- Locate the place you want to edit: Find the saved place you want to change.
- Click the three dots: Click the three vertical dots next to the place name.
- Select "Edit": Choose the "Edit" option from the dropdown menu.
- Make your changes: Update the location name, address, notes, or any other details you want to modify.
- Save your changes: Click "Save" to apply your edits.
Editing Saved Places on the Mobile App:
- Open the Google Maps app: Launch the app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Tap on "Saved": At the bottom of the screen, tap on the "Saved" icon (star symbol).
- Find the place you want to edit: Locate the saved place you want to modify.
- Tap on the place name: Tap on the place name to view its details.
- Tap on the "Edit" button: You'll see an "Edit" button in the upper right corner.
- Make your changes: Update the location name, address, notes, or any other details you want to modify.
- Save your changes: Tap on the "Save" button to apply your edits.
Examples:
- Change the name of a saved place: You can rename a saved location to a more descriptive name, such as "My Favorite Coffee Shop" instead of "Coffee Shop."
- Update the address of a saved place: If a business has moved, you can update the address to reflect the new location.
- Add notes to a saved place: You can add notes to a saved place to remind yourself of important details, such as the best time to visit or any special instructions.
