Google Forms allows you to receive notifications whenever someone submits your form. These notifications can be sent to your email, Slack, or even other apps. Here's how to set them up:

1. Access Form Settings

  • Open your Google Form.
  • Click the "Settings" icon (gear symbol) in the top right corner.
  • Select the "Notifications" tab.

2. Configure Email Notifications

  • "Send me email notifications for new responses": Toggle this option ON to enable email notifications.
  • "Include respondent's email address in notifications": Toggle this option ON if you want to receive the email address of each respondent.

3. Customize Notification Emails

  • "Notification email address": This is the email address where you'll receive notifications. You can edit this to use a different email address.
  • "Notification email subject": You can customize the subject line of the notification emails. This is helpful for identifying the form from which the notification is coming.
  • "Notification email body": This is the body of the notification email. You can customize it to include information like the respondent's name, the date and time of submission, or a link to the form responses.

4. Enable Additional Notification Options

  • "Send me email notifications for new responses": This option allows you to receive notifications for new form submissions.
  • "Send me email notifications when someone edits a response": This option lets you know when someone edits their form submission.
  • "Send me email notifications when someone submits a response with an error": This option will alert you if a respondent encounters an error while filling out the form.

5. Explore Advanced Options

  • "Send me email notifications when someone marks a response as spam": This option will notify you if a response is flagged as spam.
  • "Send me email notifications when someone submits a response with a specific answer": This option allows you to receive notifications only when someone answers a specific question in a certain way.

6. Use Google Forms Add-ons

  • "Integrations" tab in the "Settings" menu: Explore add-ons to enhance your notifications, such as sending notifications to Slack or connecting with other apps.

Example:

Let's say you're using a Google Form to collect feedback on your website. You can set up notifications to receive an email whenever someone submits the form, including their email address and the date and time of submission. This way, you can quickly respond to feedback and track the number of submissions.

By setting up Google Form notifications, you can stay informed about your forms and respond to submissions promptly.
