You can save your location on Google Earth using several methods, depending on what you want to save.
Saving a Specific Location:
- Use the Placemark Tool:
- Click the "Placemark" icon in the toolbar.
- Click on the location you want to save on the map.
- A placemark will be created, and you can edit its name, description, and other details.
- Add a Placemark from the Search Bar:
- Enter the location in the search bar.
- Click on the "Save" button next to the search results.
- A placemark will be created at the location you searched for.
Saving a Route or Path:
- Use the "Path" Tool:
- Click the "Path" icon in the toolbar.
- Click on the starting point of your route.
- Click on subsequent points along the route.
- Double-click on the final point to end the path.
- You can then edit the path's name, color, and other properties.
Saving an Area or Region:
- Use the "Polygon" Tool:
- Click the "Polygon" icon in the toolbar.
- Click on the map to define the corners of your desired area.
- Double-click on the final point to close the polygon.
- You can then edit the polygon's name, color, and other properties.
Saving a Collection of Places:
- Create a Folder:
- Click on the "My Places" icon in the sidebar.
- Click on the "New Folder" button.
- Name your folder and add any placemarks, paths, or polygons you want to save.
Accessing Saved Locations:
- You can access your saved locations by clicking on the "My Places" icon in the sidebar.
- You can share your saved locations with others by exporting them as a KML file.
