Which African Countries Drive on the Left?

Published in Geography 1 min read

Only a few African countries drive on the left side of the road:

  • South Africa
  • Botswana
  • Lesotho
  • Namibia
  • Swaziland (Eswatini)
  • Zimbabwe

These countries were influenced by British colonial rule, which mandated driving on the left.

The majority of African countries, however, drive on the right side of the road, influenced by French and Portuguese colonial influence.
