Bra sizes are determined by two measurements: band size and cup size.
- Band Size: This measures the circumference of your ribcage just below your bust. It's typically expressed in inches, with even numbers representing the band size. For example, a 32-band is 32 inches around.
- Cup Size: This measures the difference between your bust measurement (taken around the fullest part of your breasts) and your band size. Each cup size represents a 1-inch difference. The most common cup sizes are A, B, C, D, DD, and so on.
Here's how to determine your bra size:
- Measure your band size: Wrap a measuring tape around your ribcage, just below your bust. Make sure the tape is level and snug, but not too tight.
- Measure your bust size: Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your breasts, keeping the tape level.
- Calculate your cup size: Subtract your band size from your bust size. The difference will correspond to your cup size:
- 1-inch difference: A cup
- 2-inch difference: B cup
- 3-inch difference: C cup
- 4-inch difference: D cup
- And so on...
Example: If your band size is 34 inches and your bust size is 38 inches, then your bra size is 34D.
Note: Bra sizes can vary depending on the brand and style. It's always recommended to try on different bras to find the best fit for your body.
