Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandhi, had four children: Harilal, Manilal, Ramdas, and Devdas.
- Harilal, Gandhi's eldest son, faced a tumultuous relationship with his father. He struggled to follow in his father's footsteps and often rebelled against his strict principles. He later converted to Islam and died in 1948, just months after his father's assassination.
- Manilal, Gandhi's second son, actively participated in the Indian independence movement and worked closely with his father. He was a dedicated social worker and later established a textile mill in South Africa. He passed away in 1956.
- Ramdas, Gandhi's third son, also actively participated in the independence movement. He served as a social worker and worked on various development projects. He died in 1997.
- Devdas, Gandhi's youngest son, was a journalist and political activist. He worked closely with his father and played a crucial role in shaping the Indian National Congress. He passed away in 1957.
Gandhi's children all led unique lives, each contributing to their own sphere of influence. While their relationship with their father varied, they all shared his commitment to social justice and the fight for independence.
