You can create a custom chart title in Excel using the Chart Title option found in the Chart Design tab.

Here's how to create a custom chart title:

  1. Select the chart: Click on the chart to select it.
  2. Open the Chart Design tab: Look for the Chart Design tab in the Excel ribbon.
  3. Click on "Add Chart Element": In the Chart Design tab, click on the "Add Chart Element" option.
  4. Choose "Chart Title": From the dropdown menu, select "Chart Title".
  5. Select the title position: You can choose to place the title "Above Chart" or "Centered Overlay".
  6. Enter your custom title: Once the title box appears, type in your desired chart title.

You can further customize the chart title by:

  • Changing the font: Select the title and use the font options on the Home tab to modify the font style, size, color, and effects.
  • Adding text formatting: Use the bold, italic, and underline options to format the title text.
  • Adjusting the title position: Drag the title box to reposition it within the chart area.

For example, you could create a chart title like "Sales Performance by Region" or "Quarterly Revenue Trends" to clearly communicate the chart's data and purpose.
