How Do I Use Noise Cancelling on Sony WH-XB900N?

Published in Electronics 2 mins read

The Sony WH-XB900N headphones offer excellent noise cancellation to help you focus on your music or podcasts. Here's how to use it:

1. Power On and Activate Noise Cancellation:

  • Turn on your headphones by pressing the power button located on the right earcup.
  • The noise cancellation feature is automatically activated when you power on the headphones. You will hear a tone indicating that the feature is working.

2. Adjust Noise Cancellation Levels:

  • The WH-XB900N doesn't allow you to manually adjust the noise cancellation intensity. The headphones use a single, adaptive noise cancellation mode that automatically adjusts to your surroundings.

3. Check the Status Indicator:

  • When the noise cancellation is active, the LED indicator on the right earcup will light up blue.

4. Use Ambient Sound Mode:

  • If you want to hear your surroundings while still wearing the headphones, use the Ambient Sound mode.
  • To activate Ambient Sound mode, press and hold the dedicated button on the right earcup.
  • The LED indicator will light up white when Ambient Sound mode is activated.

5. Turn Off Noise Cancellation:

  • To turn off noise cancellation, you can simply turn off the headphones.
  • You can also use the Ambient Sound mode feature to temporarily disable noise cancellation.

Remember: Noise cancellation works best in environments with consistent background noise, such as airplane cabins or busy streets. It may not be as effective in environments with rapidly changing or intermittent noise.
