How Do I Make a Copy of Google Slides for Each Student?

Published in Education 2 mins read

You can easily make a copy of a Google Slides presentation for each student by using the "Make a copy" feature.

Steps to Copy Google Slides:

  1. Open the Google Slides presentation you want to copy.
  2. Click on "File" in the top menu bar.
  3. Select "Make a copy".
  4. Rename the copy to identify it as a student copy.
  5. Click "OK" to create the copy.

Sharing Copies with Students:

  1. Share the copied presentation with each student individually.
  2. Set the sharing permissions to "Can edit" to allow students to make changes.
  3. Alternatively, share the original presentation with students and instruct them to make a copy using the steps above.

Additional Tips:

  • Use a consistent naming convention for the copied presentations, such as "Student Name - Presentation Title".
  • Consider using a Google Form to collect student names and automatically create copies for each student.
  • Use the "Duplicate slide" feature to create copies of specific slides for individual students or groups.

Remember: Copying a Google Slides presentation creates a separate copy for each student, allowing them to edit and work independently.
