Published in Confluence 2 mins read

You can add a subfolder in Confluence by creating a new page and then moving it into an existing parent page. Here's how:

  1. Create a new page:
    • Navigate to the parent page where you want to add the subfolder.
    • Click the "+" button and select "Page".
    • Give your new page a title and choose a page template if desired.
    • Click "Create".
  2. Move the page into the subfolder:
    • Go to the newly created page.
    • Click the "..." button in the top right corner.
    • Select "Move".
    • Choose the parent page you want to place the subfolder under.
    • Click "Move".

Now, your newly created page will appear as a subfolder within the parent page.

Example

Imagine you have a Confluence page called "Project Management". You want to create a subfolder called "Sprint Planning" to organize information related to sprint planning within the project. You would first create a new page titled "Sprint Planning" and then move it under the "Project Management" page, making it a subfolder.

Practical Insights

  • Subfolders can be used to organize content within a Confluence space.
  • You can create multiple subfolders within a parent page.
